Our Mission
DigiBuild is dedicated to empowering Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers and trainers with European expertise to digitalize their teaching methods, with a special emphasis on the green sector. Our project is designed to align with the strategic goals of Honduras and Costa Rica, aiming to enhance the attractiveness and market relevance of VET programs. By equipping VET providers and trainers with digital competencies and establishing strong ties with the labor market, we strive to create a vibrant, demand-driven VET sector that caters to the evolving needs of the green economy.
Empowering Local Communities
In countries like Honduras, where labor market participation is low and a significant portion of the population faces extreme poverty, DigiBuild seeks to bridge the gap between education and employment through lifelong learning initiatives. Similarly, in Costa Rica, where the pandemic has reversed decades of progress on poverty reduction, our project aims to leverage digital inclusion as a means to combat social inequality and foster sustainable development.
Building a Digital-Green Synergy
DigiBuild envisions a future where education, particularly in the VET sector, is fully aligned with labor market demands, thereby addressing systemic challenges and facilitating inclusive economic recovery. By transforming VET and training providers in the green sector through innovative digital education content and tools, we aim to meet the dual objectives of enhancing employability and promoting sustainable development.
Our Goals
1. Bridging VET and the Green Sector
DigiBuild is committed to enhancing the connection between Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers and the ever-evolving needs of the green sector’s labor market. Through a blend of research, including desk reviews and interviews with key stakeholders, we aim to thoroughly understand and address the specific requirements of this dynamic field. Our approach involves engaging with professionals and trainers within the green sector to collaboratively develop a comprehensive needs analysis. This foundational work will culminate in a handbook designed to guide VET providers in aligning their offerings more closely with market demands, thereby boosting the sector’s appeal and relevance.
2. Elevating Digital Pedagogy
At the heart of DigiBuild is the drive to empower VET and training providers with advanced digital teaching methodologies, particularly tailored to the agricultural aspects of the green sector. By introducing concepts like digital microlearning, we plan to equip educators with the tools and skills necessary to foster a digitally proficient workforce. This initiative includes specialized training programs, the development of digital learning resources, and targeted support to embrace the dual transition towards digital and green economies.
3. Facilitating Knowledge and Cooperation
Understanding the importance of accessible information and seamless communication, DigiBuild will launch a comprehensive online platform. This digital hub will serve as a central point for information exchange, collaboration, and learning, featuring resources like newsletters, promotional materials, and an integrated Virtual Learning Environment. Our goal is to create a vibrant community of stakeholders, fostering cooperation and knowledge sharing across borders.
4. Fostering International Collaboration
DigiBuild recognizes the value of international dialogue and connectivity in enriching VET programs. Through a series of international events, we aim to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders from both the EU and Latin America, including Costa Rica and Honduras. These gatherings will provide a forum for policy discussions, sharing best practices, and exploring opportunities for cooperation, thereby enhancing the global reach and impact of VET providers.
5. Strengthening Stakeholder Cooperation
A key objective of DigiBuild is to reinforce the collaboration between private and public entities in the vocational education sector. By organizing workshops and networking events, we aspire to create synergies that support the widespread adoption of green digital services. These collaborative efforts will not only address current needs but also pave the way for sustainable, long-term partnerships.
6. Improving VET Quality and Relevance
To ensure that VET programs remain closely aligned with labor market requirements, DigiBuild is dedicated to continuously enhancing the quality and responsiveness of training offerings. Feedback from participants in our capacity-building programs will be instrumental in refining our approaches, ensuring that the skills provided are both current and relevant to the needs of the green sector.
7. Advocating for Digital Adoption in the Green Sector
A significant focus of DigiBuild is to raise awareness about the benefits of digital technology among professionals in the green sector, with an emphasis on empowering women. Through a variety of dissemination activities, we aim to inspire and equip these professionals to become champions of digital transformation within their respective fields, driving forward the digital-green transition.
Our Approach
DigiBuild focuses on providing comprehensive digital skills training to professionals in the green sector, particularly in agriculture, enabling them to leverage technology for improved access to services, information, and market opportunities. Through the adoption of leading European frameworks and action plans, such as the "European Skills Agenda," "Digital Education Action Plan," and the "Digital Competence Framework for Educators," among others, we aim to set a global standard in digital and green skills education.
